Progressive Delusions of Grandeur

I came across an interesting article today entitled “15 Truly Bizarre Mental Delusions” (author unknown). see source. Most psychological disorders fascinate me but rarely do they make me laugh. With that being said, for the first time in awhile I actually laughed while reading about a psychological disorder; I laughed not only at the actual disorder but the description paragraph below which states this about delusions of grandeur:

Delusions of grandeur involve patients who believe they are a famous individual, or falsely believe they know somebody who is. As an example, a patient may feel they are Alexander the Great…or Bill Clinton…or Ghandi. Alternatively, they may feel they are best friends with Stevie Wonder or Oprah Winfrey. (“15 Truly Bizarre,” n.p.)

First of all, you don’t need a psychological term to describe all of the progressive, liberal, Democrats currently running or already in office or any other progressive, liberal, Democrat voter or nonvoter for that matter (we’re not talking about a rare psychological disorder anymore, we’re talking about the equivalence of a swine flu pandemic); second, any ‘patient’ believing that they are Bill Clinton or patient wanting to be friends with Oprah Winfrey have more serious psychological issues to address before ever being concerned with delusions of grandeur. I say lock up all the crazies that idolize Bill Clinton and all the crazies that fantasize about being friends with Oprah. Problem solved.
