By now, most Americans are aware of the ridiculous new TSA security measures which include two methods: the radiation inflicting “pornographic” full body scanners or the evasive groping or full body pat down. Whether Americans have had the unfortunate opportunity to experience the new security measures or been informed by the mass media is irrelevant.
What the Left is Saying: The New York Times bloggers are having a hay-day with accusing conservatives such as John Boehner, of bypassing the new pat downs and body scanners. Laughing at the expense of average Americans? Leave it up to the liberals to find humor in the suffering of others.
What the Right is Saying: No doubt about it, Fox News has been running story after story, repeat story after repeat story on liberty infringements due to the new TSA security measures. Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly have aired countless videos including the little boy who was “strip searched” by a TSA official. Conservatives have political figures such as Mike Huckabee and Conservative media powerhouse Rush Limbaugh challenging Barack Obama and his family to take a stroll through security at the airport. access the full article here reported by NPR.
The real story about the strip-searching of a little boy by a TSA official: The mass media from left to right has failed us (with the exception of Glenn Beck). The TSA did not strip the little boy; the father stripped the boy to move the process along. This is not a defense for the full body pat downs. It calls to question all other extreme stories reported of TSA horror; a fear mongering campaign launched universally! C.S. Lewis advises to be careful when asking why in the Abolition of Man. So, I will proceed very carefully. Why were the new TSA safety regulations brought during the Ex-Gitmo detainee case against Ahmed Ghailani in which he was cleared of all but one charge out of 280 in U.S. Embassy bombings?
